Our Advanced Nutrition Coaching Course is the leading Level 4 Nutrition Coaching Qualification in the UK, ideal for fitness coaches, personal trainers, health practitioners and aspiring nutrition coaches looking to upskill themselves and become a world-class nutrition coach. This programme is also perfect for those looking to start a career in coaching, or to support their own personal health and fitness journey.

There are no formal entry requirements to enrol on this Advanced Nutrition Coaching Course, although we do recommend students have a baseline level of understanding of nutrition science, either through our Fundamentals of Nutrition Coaching Course, or an equivalent qualification in nutrition. This is an Advanced Nutrition Coaching Course and as such, will not revisit the basic and more will fundamental topics (e.g., principles of healthy eating, macronutrients, micronutrients, hydration) that are often included in lower-level nutrition courses.

Learners must have a basic entry-level of nutritional knowledge, which can originate from an accredited qualification (e.g., Level Diploma in Personal Training), or the BTN Fundamentals of Coaching Nutrition course. Additionally, learners will also need basic IT skills and be able to read and comprehend complex nutrition subjects independently. The course is purely online so learners will also need access to a computer with a stable internet connection.

The BTN Academy’s Level 4 Qualification in Nutrition Coaching is designed to assess your knowledge, understanding and application of nutrition theory in real-world situations and scenarios.

At the end of each unit, students will be required to complete a comprehensive multi-choice assessment (5 in total), designed to assess knowledge and application of knowledge to specific coaching scenarios.

These assessments are marked automatically online and students receive instant feedback on their performance. When students don’t achieve the pass mark (70%), they will be required to re-take their assessments, but there are no re-assessment fees and students can re-take assessments as many times as they need to. We always advise however that they engage with the support team before re-taking assessments.

On completion of this Level 4 Advanced Nutrition Coaching Course, you can be confident that you’ll receive a highly respected industry-recognised qualification, that is Ofqual regulated and certificated by Active IQ. More importantly, however, you’ll have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become a competent nutrition coach.

The BTN Academy’s Advanced Nutrition Coaching Course offers flexible learning options, allowing you to complete the coursework at your own pace and on your own schedule. We recommend dedicating 5-7 hours per week to learning and most students find that this is enough to make good and regular progress.

The course can be completed in 2-3 months, but most students take between 6-12 months because they adopt a mastery approach to their studies, rather than just trying to get the coursework complete. We would always encourage students to engage with all that the course has to offer, not to rush, and focus on becoming the most knowledgeable and skilled nutrition coach that they can be. This just doesn’t happen overnight.

The Fundamentals of Nutrition Coaching Course covers fundamental topics such as hydration, sleep and micronutrients in far more detail than the Advanced Nutrition Coaching Course. If you haven’t studied these topics before then we would recommend the Fundamentals of Nutrition Coaching Course first as your knowledge may end up lacking in practice. However, if you have studied nutrition before and then we’d suggest going straight to the Advanced Nutrition Coaching Course.
